These are the rules of Canadian Sudoku Champions League. All players must read them and acknowledge them upon registration, all players must follow them when playing. Our rules are simple so no player can claim confusion of their true meaning and intuitive enough not to give any player excuse of ignorance.

I. Rules of Fair Play:

  1. Registration Exclusivity Rule: Every player (physical person) can be registered only once.

  2. Tool Exclusivity Rule: The puzzle shall be solved using the player's brain power alone, using only keyboard and pointing device and the notepad facility of the puzzle page. No external aids, even pencil and paper, shall be used.

  3. Active Software Exclusivity Rule: the only runing program in a single window at the time of game is the internet browser program with a single tab (as the case may be) focused on sudoku-champions.ca sudoku game of the day.

  4. Player Exclusivity Rule: Every and any online sudoku game on the sudoku-champions.ca must be solved by the only registered and logged in player. No other persons can contribute to solution.

Upholding of these four rules gives each player the same fair chance to solve the daily sudoku game. Each puzzle has a unique solution. A correct and fairly played submission will place the player in the daily scoreboard in order of time taken. Other players will be inserted in the daily scoreboard as they submit their solutions, until the close of the day which is defined as midnight, Pacific Time. Players will be assigned points equal to the number of slower, invalid, or incomplete submissions that day. Players who submit an invalid solution, or who have started the puzzle but have not yet submitted a solution, will be listed last, with one point each.

II. Use of civilized and non-abusive language

Every sudoku aficionado has a right to register at sudoku-champions.ca. The integral part of registration process is reading and agreeing to these RULES. At the registration we ask registrants use for their nicknames only words, which are in community of civilized people NOT considered to be coarse, obscene or offensive language. The registered player has automatically priviledge of use of the sudoku-champions.ca discussion forum where sudoku-champions.ca ask them for this courtesy of not using coarse, obscene or offensive language. If we (sudoku-champions.ca team) are made aware of wilful disregard for these rules it can be followed by suspension of an account or removal of forum priviledge.

III. Rule of respect for results

The dynamics of the play is submitted to our server along with the solution, and we reserve the right to evaluate these dynamics in any way we choose, either manually or by algorithm or both, for the purpose of verifying fair play. Since each player is assessed against the same criteria in any one day, you agree to respect the determination. A play may be determined to be invalid at any time, and the scoreboard adjusted without notice. If you choose to query an evaluation in our forum, you agree that we may publish your play dyanmics in support of our position. There are no prizes offered for any achievement on sudoku-champions.ca, and in the event that any prize or gift is offered, it may be declined, in which case there will be neither alternative, nor compensation.
